Issue Tracker Requests Summary:
Description: Occasional long server downloading delays hang the user interface. The background option should be implemented ASAP.
Additional Information
During an update, the "Update Now" button could change to "Cancel Update". Even during foreground updates, the button could be polled, and the operation canceled, even if the button itself doesn't give immediate feedback.
Consider eliminating foreground updates altogether.
Use of the Statement Window status line can change color or start with [Update] or something to indicate that an update is in progress.
A progress bar with cancel button could launch, but that would be distracting during background updating.
