Error encountered

Well, it took me a while to find the msi file today as the file saved itself as a .doc file rather than a .msi file. I renamed the download and copied it over to a test PC, ran the install and tried opening a copy of my .mny file. I immediately got an error message:

Debug Assertion Failed
file c:msvstudio90/vc/atlmfc\include\atlcomli.h Line 172
Expression: p!=0

Sorry for that error message. Something is not working.

Could you please check your money file folder for a sub folder named
MnyUpdates? In that folder should be a log file titled something like
PalOMoney_2013-02-09_XX-XX.log (date and time stamped), which you can open
with notepad. I am interested in any error messages in there. If there are
no identifiers, you can just attach a copy to an email, or just excerpt
the last few lines. Whatever is convenient for you. Please redact any
personal information in the log file (maybe there is none).

An example of an entry:
2013-02-09_19-49-18=Error 0 creating Money Database Engine
If the file does not exist, there is something else wrong.

Is your file password protected? If so, try opening the file in Money,
removing the password, and closing Money, and try again.

An error like this should be handled by the application, and not trapped
in the libraries. I will review the code and see what I missed.

I hope there is not too many of these kinds of bugs. They should have been
caught by now.

The "test" PC is WinXP SP3 without the Money program installed, just a copy of the password-protected Money data file, which may be why I git the error. The lone entry in the log file is:
2013-02-09_17-39-41=Error 2 locating Money installation

So now it looks like I'll have to install Sunst Money and remove the data file passord....

Yes, sorry, you need to install Money 2008 or Sunset. PalOMoney interfaces with the Money software -- that's why it is (we hope) safe, compatible, and capable of simultaneous access along with Money.

And it seems you are using a password protected Money file. This will increase the priority of getting password support working.
